That's pretty rough to be made into THE persona of what the world is conditioned to hate. I don't really view Hitler as any worse as any other person, he was human and he loved and hated just like anyone else.
I do think the pressure of what was laid on him started to tax on his sanity at the later part of the war, and that I think is understandable.
He did essentially what we need to do now but never will, destroy the banks and corruption in or society by expelling all of the people who are responsible for it - but it will never happen because they are nearly entirely Jews, and it will never happen because we have been conditioned to not want to be Hitler.
And that's unfortunate isn't it that so many had to be dragged into a war to die and the world made to believe Germany wanted to conquer the world when he didn't even want France or Britain. This and his enemy was mainly our very same enemy for the entire period following WW2.
But certain parties needed and were ready for a war, and certain parties needed a Hitler. The immediate reaction would obviously be, "muh holocaust," since that is all anyone is trained to think about the entire ordeal; I can't find one single good reason why if you take the entirety of the propaganda we're fed to think about it and digest it even at the maximum levels of exaggeration how he's any worse or better than any of the other "American" or other heroes we admire today.
We need to just forget Hitler, and get over it. The monolith character he's built into as the ultimate bad-guy of all ages has done our society so much ill just in how much his name is invoked to define bad, compare others to that character, or blanket admonish any idea or policy he had other than expelling Jews.

I doubt if you asked him in 1939 if he wanted to see that many dead who opposed him he'd say so. Hitler doesn't strike me as the Genghis Khan type marauder strong arm who was looking to topple whatever he could touch. The circumstances that led to him having to do just that weren't entirely in his hands to create.
