Any mass movement worth its salt will never use violence until it already know it could win decisively which, in the case of a rebellion against the state, would also mean that it could win democratically at which point the need for violence disappears. The percentage of people that are ready to engage in violence at any given time is rather small. I have this vision in my head. You walk out of some political meeting.
