Why do you people hate immigration so much, it actually proves to be extremely profitable for the economy, almost all economists agree.
Large tax revenues, cheap labour, raised wages for all of us, growth in GDP about 1% a year, populayion growth stability and many more.
There are normative issues of culture that need to be adressed but all I read here are people afraid of Muslim takeover or war when that's never going to happen.

Im fine with legal immigration, and with the levels they are set at in the US.
The UN continuously claims that the US is one of the easiest countries in the world to legally immigrate into. We give out 1 million criteria-based visas every year for family, employment, or student etc. Then there are special refugee-based visas, AND, there are 250,000 immigration visas given out yearly that need no criteria at all.
And these numbers won't put a drain on our resources, and would be good for the economy.
Trouble is, ILLEGAL immigration. There are 11-13 million ILLEGAL immigrants who have snuck into the US, and who break the law daily by remaining. They are not good for the economy..if they work, those are 11 million jobs that LEGAL immigrants and American citizens could have...and we have a huge unemployment problem.
Illegal immigrants break the law the moment they sneak in, in defiance of our very reasonable, sane and rational immigration laws.

Im a legal mexican American. I don't like criminals, and I am not going to support criminals just because they are also hispanic. Nobody should support people who break the laws.
