I've traveled in SA quite a bit. Don't get why whites are so down on it: it's basically the best of the first and third world all within walking distance.
If you aren't flooded by illegal immigration from elsewhere in Africa I think you'll see the condition and economic competitiveness of the blacks improve: they really have a huge leg up being in the same country with a large and very sophisticated managerial class. The homelands are fucked up and pretty hopeless, but they're hollowing out for a reason: people want something better and are willing to work for it.
