The show used to be about 3 superheroes that happened to be and think like 5 year old girls. The citizenry and other adult characters were more nuanced, like the Mayor being an idiot, but at the same time hinted at corruption.
As the series went on, it became more of a marketing/propaganda tool towards girls. Adult male characters were dumbed down to the point of literally acting like babies.
I don't have high hopes for the new show, designs are terrible. But whatever, there hasn't been anything interesting on CN for years.

The princess bit isn't bad at all, it's pretty much straight out of the original show.
What I find messed up is that the manly man trying to get men to act like men is the villain, while the 'normal' men are a bunch of hippies sitting in a circle and knitting. You want to talk about social propaganda, there it is.
