Are generic brands socialism?

>violate intellectual property rights by imitating existing products and steal profits from hardworking companies that actually create new products

>give niggers and lazy welfare queens a sense of entitlement to equal products for less money

>the bland packaging and slightly off taste of generic brand products gradually wear away at consumers' self esteem and warp their psychology to make them more docile and receptive to collectivist ideas
>>
Wouldnt mind rationed products blandly labelled as what they are to be honest.
>>
>>66846469
Not alone, but if they are the only option by state mandate then yes. Only they would be Distributed by the state.

If manufacturers of generic brands are allowed to copy Coca Cola, for example, people will have no incentive to buy Coca Cola anymore because they can buy the slightly off-tasting plebeian cola instead. This will result in stagnation because there won't be any incentive for entrepreneurs to create innovative new products. This is why we have patents and copyright laws.

For many people, brand loyalty is an integral part of how they view themselves and want others to. When someone purchases a generic brand, what does that tell you about the kind of person they are? How do you think they will eventually see themselves compared to a person who can say "I prefer the Mountain Dew to the Coca Cola"?

>For many people, brand loyalty is an integral part of how they view themselves and want others to.

I know this is probably a troll but those people are fucking stupid.

That is incredibly sad and pathetic

They're the exact opposite of socialism, fag

Not so fast, Diao Ping. It's time to go back to China.

You sound like the kind of money hungry kike who would sue a daycare for painting murals of disney characters without their permission.

According to the communist cucks on /pol/, it tastes "exactly the same"... r-really it does.

>Chinese communists who print Disney characters on backpacks and sell them without permission aren't greedy

No. They're great for bargains. Long live Capitalism!

>your kid's friends bring Poptarts to school for lunch
>you packed him Toaster Pastry

If you buy generic brands, you don't love your family. Not that you'll ever get that far by buying generics, because no woman wants to settle for a penny pinching loser who buys store brand "food" that tastes like animal feed and comes in packages that look like they're for industrial chemicals.

seriously?

>>66851453
So if you spend your life working on an idea and then I steal it and start profiting from it, that's fine by you?

And hey, since intellectual property is real, why don't we just let students copy off of each others' papers in school? After all, intellectual property is just another social construct.

no, that's literally capitalism

While the chinese blatantly violating copyright laws is greedy and grimy, not all generics are just "copies" of better products. Store brands for some foods/products are literally just cheaper versions of name brand produce, or alternatives that might even be better than the name brand shit. Generic drugs are made after the copyright expires, so even that's not really IP violation anymore.

Either way
>forcing yourself to pay more for some of the same produce
>m-muh brand loyalty

>packing your kid the rolled jew
>not packing your child baked goods, or handmade products that are objectively superior

We're on a Kafkaesque carnival ride constructed years before we were born, and all we can do now is sit in terror until the ride finally breaks down and we're all spiritually obliterated.

PLEASE GOD!

ENGAGE THE BREAKS!

I WANT OFF!

Lots of people forget that perfect capitalism only functions when all parties have perfect information and all products for a particular purpose are perfectly interchangeable

If anything generic products are the most capitalist brand of all time
>>
>>66851680
>steal
Also
>why don't we just let students copy off of each others' papers in school?
Sounds like some nice tasty fraud to me
>>
>>66846469
Nah, unless it's something very specific, more often than not they're the same quality as most brands anyway
>>
>coca cola is $3
>imitation cola is $2 but tastes different
If the imitation cola cuts into Coca-Cola's profits that bad, they lower the price of coke, consumer wins
If the cheap imitation cola tastes better than Coca-Cola, then the consumer wins
Simple
