Libertarians and non-Libertarians alike are all welcome. Post issues, ask questions & receive answers, and discuss Libertarian issues in politics.

>What is Libertarianism?
Libertarianism (Latin: liber, "free") is a political philosophy that upholds liberty as its principal objective. Libertarians seek to maximize autonomy and freedom of choice, emphasizing political freedom, voluntary association and the primacy of individual judgment.

>How do I know if I'm a Libertarian?
Take the quiz: http://www.theadvocates.org/quiz/quiz.php

>Aren't you guys just anarchists?
While Libertarians think that a minimal centralized government is necessary, anarchists propose to completely eliminate the state, and that is not our goal.

>Is this party only in the United States?
Absolutely not. Several countries now have officially declared Libertarian parties, and the ideals of true liberty aren't confined to just one country. You can be a Libertarian no matter where you are.

Compelling argument.
>>
Some people don't deserve freedom, and would just use democracy as a means to drag everyone else down with them.
>>
wat about the american constitution?
>>
>victim society
>no crime

wat

so showing degeneracy in prime time tv is aOK because the only victim is society
>>
libertarianism truly appeals to autists or asspies because they cannot see the society they live in due to their condition
>>
>>66786488
You could just change the channel.

>>66786596
>wanting true constitutional freedom is autistic

Good afternoon, shill. How much did Republicrats pay you to make that post?
>>
>>66786488

Actually a better example you could give to unwind this is by asking if there is a crime if you are throwing knives by someone's head but not actually hitting them.
>>
>>66787876
Endangering some bodies life is an automatic right to put a bullet in their head

People with the Union Jack need not apply ITT
>>
libertarians=cucks
>>
>muh freedom

Get in the gulag.
>>
>>66787876
No, throwing knives at someone without their permission is still illegal in a libertarian society.

>>66788220
No, people in favor of the government telling them how to live their lives/spend their money (i.e. you) = cucks.
>>
Did you really need to throw the Latin term in there like a pseudo-intellectual cunt and like we don't know what the fuck "liber" means? Cuck off, lolbertarian.
>>
>>66788411
Is that seriously the only legitimate argument you have against libertarians?

Back to the drawing board with you, statist.
>>
>>66785808
What is libertarian stance on industrial polluters?

Should they just be allowed to dump in rivers? Spew smog ?
>>
>>66788411

Statistcucks on suicide watch, so mentally crazed for government cock they can't even form a argument. Delicious statie tears

The Constitution is not a guarantor of rights. This is what boggles my mind about people who worship the damn thing.

The Constitution is the Federal Government. The two are one in the same. It creates the Federal Government, and says what the Federal Government can and cannot do.

And EVERYTHING in the Constitution is subject to change. We could write into the Constitution an amendment that reads "People who publicly say the Constitution protects their right shall be shot in the face".

And that would be perfectly Constitutional.

>Constitutional Freedom

Libertarians constitution thumping is the twig they grip to argue that they are not Anarchists. But it is still an appeal to authority.

Because the Constitution IS the Government.

Top kek, I'm a libertarian myself you autistic sperglord. I'm just not a retarded one like you that honestly believes that the State should be completely abolished.

People have the right to be left alone if they aren't hurting anyone, but you can't tell the government to completely fuck off, and you can't broadcast pornography on television and shit.

The more libertarians I meet, the more it pushes me away from this ideology as I realize all of you are autists.

So I say again: did you really need to fucking put the Latin translation of liber in there like we're fucking 2nd graders being talked down to?

Fuck off, cuck.
>>
I don't see the real difference between Libertarians and Anarchists.
The way isn't the same but in the end there will be power struggels among diffrent groups. And if no one gets the monoploy on force, it will be constant civil war.

Or do you guys really believe in universal moral norms in the human nature, that will apparently show when there is no government?

>I don't want to live under a fascist state, therefore I am a libertarian.

That quiz is deceptive for its simplicity. It's essentially sets up a bait and switch. When a normie moderate claims to be a libertarian because of that quiz they get called a liar by libertarians for not taking the NAP to its logical conclusion, for agreeing with some form of income tax, and wanting minimal regulation for the environment, labor, and consumer protection.

Heck, the reason for the "Portland Massacre of 2006" happened because the Libertarian Party wanted to include these kinds of people.

The Portland Plank Massacre of 2006
What really happened at the Libertarian Party convention?

I actually had to sit in a lecture that explained this.

tl;dr, people should pay the corporation money for them not to pollute, as Air and Water are a resource just like anything else, and whatever air and water around the business is theirs.

Where did I ever say that?
>>
>>66785808

This chart allows public nudity.

Degenerate Libertarianism busted.
>>
>>66789163

And how precisely does a minimal centralized government maintain order? Minimally?
>>
>>66789085
>I'm such a sperglord that I push moderates away from a perfectly legitimate ideology by pushing it to a fanatical, autistic end, saying shit like "abolish all tax" and "muh rights" every single time anything happens
You're a fucking idiot. Libertarians are just anarchists that hide behind the Constitution. News flash: the Constitution IS the fucking government, you idiot. This is what you autistic manchildren cannot understand. The Constitution lays out what the federal government may and may not do. You cannot be anti-government and pro-Constitution.

I am a libertarian as far as I believe the government has a right to:
>collect tax from me
>draft me during war
>arrest me for breaking the law
Other than that, if I'm not physically harming anyone I should be left the fuck alone.

You need to fucking grow up and enter the real world. Maybe stop reading so much Ayn Rand.
>>
>>66788882
Anarchy = no government
Libertarianism = minimal government necessary to protect life, liberty, and property of its citizens.

>>66789095
>no it wouldn't be.

Yes it would be. Stop trying to perpetuate misinformation. It is still considered attempted murder without the person's permission and you would be tried in court for it.
>>
>>66789269

>those libertarians just want to fuck child prostitutes while shooting heroin in a parking lot!

Good argument, nice and sound, I like it.
>>
>>66789429
Congrats Shlomo, you are an anarchist and have no Libertarian views whatsoever. I feel bad for your friends/family/anyone who has to deal with your toxic personality in person.
>>
>>66789205
Reducing the State's power to the point where it can no longer maintain order is the same as eliminating the State, dipshit.
>We aren't anarchists! We don't want to get rid of the government!
>We just want to take away the government's power to do literally anything, including fund itself
>>
>>66789540
Does it or does it not allow public nudity?

Good luck selling this snake oil to anyone who has children.
>>
>>66789594
>anarchist and have no Libertarian views whatsoever
Ah, the classic "no true Scotsman." You faggots really are autistic. You are in favor of less government than I am dumbass, so in what universe am I the anarchist?

Wah-wah-wah. My delicate eyes can't handle seeing anything I'm not comfortable with.

Go to the Middle East faggot.
>>
>>66789163
Not my point.

In a libertarian society, as I understand it, the governmnet, or better the executive force of the gov. is just one among other, maybe better equipped forces, which have the freedome to promote there own values, beside what the executive says.

What happens if there are groups, maybe cooperating to force there ideas upon worse equipped people, who rely on the security provided by bad equipped libertarian executive force?
>>
>>66789596
>Reducing the State's power to the point where it can no longer maintain order

Good thing that isn't the goal of libertarianism.

I have one question for you, shill. Why would you bother pretending to be a libertarian when you don't even know the basics of our party's principles? Are you too lazy to read 2-3 pages worth of material?
>>
>>66789783
So you would literally be okay if I brought a deer I'd just shot in front of your child, and chopped its fucking head off and let your kid see the blood spill out all over the road?

Oh wait, WHO WILL BUILD THE ROAD?

Fucking lolbertarians
>>
>>66790162
>So you would literally be okay if I brought a deer I'd just shot in front of your child, and chopped its fucking head off and let your kid see the blood spill out all over the road?

That depends on whoever owns the property the road is on. They'll probably tell you to get the fuck out or possibly even have workers escort you off the premises.
