How about instead of rewarding shitty, myopic foreign policy with an influx of millions of left wing voters, we provide care to those in need in their own countries and help them rebuild, instead of just bringing all of the world's problems to our doorstep a la Europe?
If you want these people to recover, the most logical and reasonable course of action is to house them nearby and rebuild their country. We can't just take in all of the world's displaced people. We would collapse.

Because it doesn't solve the problem. Ignoring the demographic replacement angle, all it does is act as a valve in the region and take in fucked up foreigners that will have difficulty adapting to war-free culturally Christian western society.
Even if we threw open the doors, it wouldn't solve the problem, because people would still be killing one another over there and creating more refugees and more suffering.
That's why decolonization was probably the single most evil thing the Western World has ever done. When you have an overarching and powerful authority that enforces peace, peace will happen. When you take that authority away, society breaks down. When the Europeans left, the Middle East and Africa had no competent and powerful authority waiting in the wings to enforce peace and continue the development of these countries.
Hence they devolved to feudal barbarism with the addition of modern technology to make it all the bloodier.

You mean 'objections.' The answer is none. If they are properly screened migrants coming here wanting to work I have no problem with this. Hell, they should be able to bring their families if they so choose. The problems is how we're doing it these days. Not just the lax standards and greater numbers than we can manage but it's also a largely government sponsored program. Privately sponsored refugees tend to do much better economically and it's undoubtedly easier to integrate them, get them on board with Canadian civil society and voting to the right. If you meet one, be nice to him, if you live near one, lend a hand if needed. Be welcoming and start to show your friend the right direction.
