It would cost a minimum of $60,000 or so to hire someone to do the work of a stay at home mother. That's the cut-rate Mexican salary, a talented mother should be worth $70k or more. You can support a family in what you can support a family on. You could have the best wife ever and literally not make as much as the value she creates, you don't actually pay her. "Creating value" literally just means doing work, it doesn't mean anyone is getting paid.
