>how useful were they during ww2

italians suck at wars. some of the best german divisions led by Kesselring were stuck defending the Gustav Line and Monte Cassino instead of helping the rest of the Wermacht annihilate slavshits

>how good was Italy during fascist rule.

Mediocre; Mussolini did some good thing, other terrible thing (like permit to work with the government only to a small group of industry just because they were friend to someone inside the party, with terrible, terrible disaster especially on the war front).

>Also how useful were they during ww2?

how useful is a nation forced to partecipate in a war only because the stronger nation would have wiped us out anyway?
>>
>>66662011
how does you nation feel about the italo-ethopian war?

UK was not in a position to fight at the time.

The fact that italians had to be bailed out by Hitler throughout the North African campaign should tell you everything about how good they were

Also, read up on Operation Husky. Instead of defending their homeland, there were cases when Italians were helping the Americans landing in Sicily. The only defenders of Fascist italy were Germans.
Italians also rebelled against Mussolini as soon as Americans invaded. That's how fucking pussy they were. But german commandos freed him so the Allied forces got bogged down in Italy for quite some time

The fascinating thing about the italian campaign is the ability of Kesselring to use such little resources to put up such a valiant defense (most resources were used to fight Ruskies). And also the bombing of the monte cassino monastery was hilarious

You weren't forced into anything, you thought that the war would've over quickly and wanted to grab some land.
>>
>>66662221
We doesn't care, really. We can barely qualify as a full-fledge nation, we don't have any kind of nationalism, we're more attached to our regionalism if anything.

"During the thirty centuries of our history, Italy has known many solemn and memorable moments – this is unquestionably one of the most solemn, the most memorable. People of Italy, people of the world, peace has been restored."

"The Italian people have created an empire with their blood. They will fertilize it with their work. They will defend it against anyone with their weapons. Will you be worthy of it?"

>how good was Italy during fascist rule.
Bretty gud.
Everything worked better, economically and socially and morally.

>how useful were they during ww2?
Very useful.
To the Allies.

the funniest part of the italian affair was that mussolini literally started a decade before hitler. hitler would look up to him when he was younger and would hope that he could one day reach his greatness.
germany was supposed to be the lesser member of the alliance.
and then suddenly, you see an italy struggling to annex albania, while germany was already done with austria, bohemia and rhineland.
germany should have never invited italy to the war. italy wasn't just useless... it was a liability. their chances of winning would be dramatically higher without them.

>forced to partecipate in a war
Lol wut?
Germany wouldn't have attacked us if we didn't help. They would have just demanded some monetary compensation for violating the Pact.
Japan didn't do shit to help them and Hitler didn't care.

This.
We delayed the invasion of Russia by 5 precious weeks of spring. Without us, Hitler wouldn't have been surprised by winter at the doors of Moscow.

So in the end, it was Italy who saved the world?
>>
>>66664054
both sides sucked.

Is it true that fascism is actually wanted again by a fair amount of Italians?

Seen a documentary that said the time of musilini is not actually vilianized like the Germans during ww2.
