I've lived in an almost 100% black neighorhood for the last ten years (white guy, Harlem). I've never had any problems because they all think I'm a cop. I've had about 15 different confrontations with people on the street in other neighborhoods of the city. Every single one of them was black.
So, here's my own conclusion... Even though the overwhelming majority of black people aren't looking for trouble, the overwhelming majority of people who are looking for trouble are black. For me, the phrase "Around blacks, never relax" is not just a meme but a commonsense reality that I've internalized so completely that I don't even need to think about it anymore.
People who want to propose "thought experiments" to reveal "racism" are sheltered idealists who cant come to terms with the fact that blacks really are grossly over-represented in the worthless, violent, good-for nothing demographic. And you DO need to be on your guard around all of them even though only a minority of them are a problem.

As someone who went to highschool in Jamaica Queens and lived in Newark for about 5 years, there are certain things you pick up. Street smarts are a real thing. Shit like they come up and ask you what the time is, say you dont have it. they just want to see what watch or phone you have. Another thing is a car pulls up next to you and tell you to come close, they need directions and need you to see their iphone up close. I also take precautions. Stuff like dont wear flashy stuff.
