Maybe people are not aware that:
1. unemployment benefits and state pensions are calculated depending on past employment and the employer is supposed to contribute towards this insurance fund for you
2. minimum wage is tiered in most places so if you're underage and working there for more than a year your minimum wage requirement probably goes up each year or something similar

Bike laws and their enforcement change with local jurisdiction. When my parents were kids there was a license that was enforced in their hometown.
Cba wasting my phone bandwith on youtube, but in short, it's extremely common in Croatia for bosses to cheat you out of wages with every bullshit they can think off.
I had friends who drove taxis and lost 40% of their paycheck because they weren't perfectly shaved while driving, those who worked in retail had big chunks cut out for various reasons. Truck drivers where cheated on reported kms driven etc.
Others simply make you work 12 hours a day and you never see a cent for overtime work.
It's pretty much a constant in half the work environments and one of the main reasons why people are leaving the country in droves.
A month ago I was reading how a local business was bitching how they couldn't find any new workers.

I've been ripped off plenty of times for wages back when I was poor(er). Bosses know that poor people can't afford (time and money) to sue. Additionally, most poor people are uneducated about the law. Low wage workers, especially independent contractors, get ripped off all the fucking time. Even lawyers and so forth get ripped off/not paid (especially when they work independently).
