1. France is the prime example of white guilt. They let so many Algerians in, due to the fact they felt bad for taking over their country and dominating them. It's a way to pay reparations in their mind. Germany, on the other hand, feel bad in general, as they feel they have to pay reparations to the whole world for WW2.
2. Socialism, in itself isn't bad. But in a leftard mind, there's no difference between helping your people when they're in need and helping foreigners. Having a strong society with productive members benefit everybody. However, a foreigner as no moral obligation not to leech off that "help".
