I think he's fairly anti-intellectual, has a past inconsistent with what he claims to believe now, and relies too much on "I'll use my business magic, you'll see" for answers on policy. I also feel he has no respect for the constitution or the ideals of the founding fathers.

Americans need to understand Canada has an extremely insular media culture that is struggling incredibly. Hundreds of journalism jobs have been cut this year alone and almost all of our news flows outwards from one city, Toronto, where all our media elites are connected. They are disconnected from what average Canadians on the left and right care about and are more concerned with stoking minor scandals out of nothing and discussing trivia while they lack the resources to pursue any kind of deep analysis or investigations.
So we have a reactionary media that jumps to the easiest, safe neoliberal opinions. Instead of discussing why so many Americans are interested in Trump (acknowledging and examining their dread and frustration) our bureau chiefs and head columnists are sharing "Here's how Trump is like Hitler" memes. It's really depressing when you realize this is how the educated class of your country is behaving, and you're not in a big country like America where many metropolises hold multiple intellectual communities. We just have one community that ignores the rest of the population while recycling bullshit opinions through each other.
