For starters, Fascism actually has a goverment.
The only difference is that socialism has a form of government but it's really small because the people are still in charge. Communism has no government and the people are in charge 100%

In Fascism, only minorities starve. In Communism, everybody starves.
Fascism allowed private businesses and didn't collectivize agriculture. This might sound like a minor detail, but in practice it makes a huge difference.
Fascism also had private press and news, which were subject to heavy censorship, while the USSR only had state press.
Communism and militarism also go together like shit, while fascism in militarism work together well.

Fascism in lay mans terms in socialism with nationalism.
Communism has a lot of different factors and isn't as simple. The government will be large and powerful enough to own and distribute land, which has a lot of other effects intellectual property and economics that usually means a lot of people will be murdered by the state.
