I can only speak for myself here as both a conservative *and* a racialist. I have zero interest in helping the environmental future of a brown planet. Why should Western countries limit themselves to "save the environment" when the other 93% of the brown world uses it up ferociously? The minute white Westerners are gone, it's pretty easy to see how the brown world will deal with the environment. So, the most important thing to save regarding the environment, is the white Western world, let's secure that, *then* worry about trees and spotted owls.

A lot of energy is used for space conditioning. Of course in a Northern country, you won't be able to get enough energy with just solar. Incidentally, electric heating is the least efficient. Therefore, solar can be used for electronic appliances. Geothermal energy and passive design can be used for space heating; HRV systems can be used to save money and make space conditioning more efficient; solar thermal panels can be used for full or partial water heating.
