Reagan tore it down by forcing the Soviets to shift their economy back towards military spending making it finally implode. The social revolutions of the 1980's in Eastern Europe couldn't be stopped because of it. The Soviet Union simply didn't have the resources or desire to stop them because they couldn't afford it. Granted, it was becoming increasingly expensive to do it, but even into 1980, they were pushing their satellites to violently crackdown on dissidence such as Soldarnosc in Poland.

However I think that wasn't a major reason for the collapse of the USSR, or rather that it would have happened anyway, with or without Reagan era massive military spending. It would have probably taken a bit longer. But it would have happened anyway, it was inevitable.

General estimates are another 10 to 15 years. This doesn't take into account the nationalist reforms the Soviets were pushing in the 1970's and early 1980's which could have breathed new life into the COMBLOC. In fact, many of the social revolutions weren't anti-communist, but pro-nationalist. I'm not so sure to say it was inevitable, but between Jan Pawel II and Reagan it became inevitable.
