I can see why America did it, but why did Germany, France etc. leave? Our soldiers could have stayed and helped in the safe areas, which could have been a big leverage factor in returning the million Afghanis which have come to Europe.

What's better, keeping 50,000 soldiers in Afghanistan which provides security and stability... or taking in 1 million Afghans in Europe changing Europe's fundamental society composition?
>>
Cause we realize we weren't there to fight terrorism but to secure opium production, which is later used as heroin to destabilize Iran, China and Russia.
>>
>>66289076
You really have never read anything about that war, have you?
>>
>>66290837
And that is a bad thing? Why don't we help with the opium production? The best heroin addiction programs are those actually providing heroin to addicts in a controlled environment.

Also, opium is an important incredient for all kinds of palliative drugs which are increasingly important in Europe with an ever older population.

Yank, we actually secured a good part of the quiet portion of Afghanistan. If we continued it, we could have a way to send back hundreds of thousands of Afghans in Germany.
>>
>>66289076
Because wasting our money and soldiers there was quite stupid.

Also - I don't know how the rest of the Europe, but Poland has joined this war only to be noticed by USA.
>>
>>66294594
And you can be noticed again! Let us fight once more, Polish brother. Let us fight and win in Libya, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia etc. We can be great again.
>>
>>66294724
I wish we would, but it's costly lad.
Also - we're about to send 4 F-16's to Syria for patrolling and scouting duty.
Polish army just can't quit Middle-East..

It's not that easy.
After retaking all land from ISIS hands we need to search every single house to find every terrorist.
Just look at Afghanistan, war is over, but people are still dying.
Let'em deal with it without our help.
Better use your army to send these refugees back to Africa.
We will help you, just give us a sign.

>Afghanistan
Because europe realized its more fun to bring the Afghans to europe and get Cucked then to fight them in Afghanistan
>>
>>66295160
just nukeem all
pls
>>
The only Europeans who actually did anything of value were the Danish and Estonians.

Everyone else was too pussy to go to Helmand.
>>
>>66295530
You do not search a single house. That is the wrong tactic. You put in power local warlords and empower them. You put money in reconstruction. Searching houses is the most stupid American tactic ever tried.

You get in, you get the oil and guard it and extract it. You pay people to support yoi. You leave the Islamists in power and make them your allies... just under a new name.

>I can see why America did it, but why did Germany, France etc. leave? Our soldiers could have stayed and helped in the safe areas, which could have been a big leverage factor in returning the million Afghanis which have come to Europe.

Because without US taking care of south northern Afghanistan would have seen much more fighting after Taliban would have reasserted it's control of south. Not to mention that European countries wouldn't be able to provide logistics support for expeditionary war so far away.

>What's better, keeping 50,000 soldiers in Afghanistan which provides security and stability... or taking in 1 million Afghans in Europe changing Europe's fundamental society composition?

Third option, send those refugees back. Not taking 'em in Europe.
>>
>>66294724
You don't have any army, so you just asking for others to fight for you.
France is already in all this country well not somalia but how cares about pirate niggers.
>>
>>66297122
We were taking care of the North. If we had not left, tr Afghan army could have concentrated on the American held areas. Not saying they would have done better, but we would have a legitimate reason to turn 1,000,000 Afghans back into safe zones.

The truth hurts, doesn't it, Frenchie?

French military: 210k personnel
German and Austrian military: 230k personnel
>>
>>66297627
French army isn't 210k, austrian isn't germany, and you don't gave 230k personnel.
plus a quarter of your military is under french command.
plus half of your equipment is outdated/ non-functionnal.
plus another quarter of your personnal is women.
etc...
but if wars change one day, and be more about lgbt rights, you would have a chance yes.

ISAF ceased combat operations and was disbanded in December 2014, with some troops remaining behind in an advisory role as part of ISAF's successor organization, the Resolute Support Mission.

Welcome to 2016.

Afghani national army is completely incompetent and incapable operating on it's own. Just US casualties in south make up 2/3 of total coalition losses, add other countries that operated in south we are talking about 90% of coalition casualties. War was in south, without US being there it would come to north.

Opium production in Afghanistan implies something about how much under coalition and government control the country was.

Best option would be sending all Afghan refugees back or into neighboring countries and set up refugee camps there. Refugee on a camp costs a fraction of what same shitbag costs to maintain in Europe.

>French military: 210k personnel

French military is actually capable and willing to deploy.

Fun fact, good deal of Bundswehr badges of honor have been issued to US MEDEVAC crews. Germans had faster MEDEVAC helicopters closer to where German patrol was ambushed. US were still able to get there faster as Bundeswehr required minister level clearance to any non-scheduled flight.

Danish, Finnish, Norwegian and Swedish troops in Afghanistan were mostly on German managed area in north. Germans were supposed to provide medical evacuations. After couple Norwegian soldiers bled dry while waiting for German helicopter, Swedes and Norwegians deployed their own helicopters that weren't exactly required by ISAF. Just to ensure that medical evacuation flights will arrive on time.

>>66298943
All more reasons for Germans to keep soldiers in he North of Afghanistan and learn how war is done without the Americans. The German military needs more budget, more troops and a better organizational structure. Staying in Afghanistan after the Americans left would have taught Germans a great lesson of how to do things and how not to.
