Nazi Germany is not the supreme example, or representative, of National Socialism. Nazi Germany did more harm than good for the National Socialist movement.... which was gaining a lot of popularity in the 20s and 30s across Europe.
National Socialism can be done better. It should be separated completely from the Third Reich, and propped up as an independent form of government, that is much better than the Representative Republic which we have in America, or Communism.

National socialism doesn't replace capitalism within a society. It works with capitalism. Private property and free enterprise were more or less unmolested under national socialism.
The very fundamental monetary framework of national socialism is what makes it what it is.
Non-inflationary currency (meaning no interest attached to the generation of currency) backed by the labor to construct public works rather than debt (current system) or gold (asset backed). The government, under Hjalmar Schacht, created the labor treasury certificate. This certificate was redeemable in marks and vise versa (like gold was). However, the labor treasury certificates were issued to pay for federal construction projects (the autobahn for instance). This meant the mark was indirectly backed by the ability of the country to make stuff. This also meant the german treasury had very good control over the value of its own currency and the heat of its own economy. Imagine if a country had the ability to "print gold" in a measured and considered way, but the only way to legally do it was to create the gold to pay for public works.
This is the reason for the "German Miracle" of the 1930s. The people had their own economy under their own direct control and could wax and wane their currency and the currency's backing in accordance with any given situation.

Read "The Magic of Money" by Hjalmar Schacht himself. He survived the war since he was fired by the German government before the war. He was against the idea of using the German economy to rearm. He talks a little about the fundamental monetary policy of Nazi Germany.
There are other graduate level+ economics books that discuss it. I'm trying to remember the others.
