Back when I was a kid, I used to loath people who would watch TV all day.

Now I'm in a situation where I'm extremely procrastinating. I end up watching youtube videos all day, which is the equivalent of the couch potato, although the subjects are more red pill (it doesn't matter does it?).

I'd like to stop this spiral of degeneration before it's out of control, and get my drive back. Should I go cold turkey? Any advice I should follow?
Thinking of deleting Facebook and installing a bunch of stuff on my computer to avoid wasting time.
But I'm afraid the change has to come from a more fundamental level.

Polacks guide me with your holy knowledge.
>>
- delete some images / games / bookmarks etc
- unsub from some channels
- clean room, take shower etc
- set alarm every 3 hours, try to get something done at least 30 mins out of that 3 hours. (for example learning to program, etc)
- increase the time. maybe spend 1 hour working, 2 rest. or 2 hours working, 1 rest. etc.
- don't be too hard on yourself. progress will be slow. you don't need the timer constantly
that worked for me at least
tho i still struggle sometimes

you gotta have some hobbies as well. maybe watching anime, working out, collecting images, drawing, playing videogames, watching shows, etc

basically try to find time in your day for productive things

I am in the same boat as you. Feelsbadman. A week ago I quite alcohol, drugs, and porn so we will see if that makes a difference. I'm thinking about devoting my time and focus to making a YouTube channel and political blog.

ANaerobic (not aerobic -- must get out of comfort zone) exercise for 1 min ever 30 mins (or as close as you can get it) all your waking day/s and watch your brain crank back into gear

>you're listless because you're depressed
>depression has everything to do with vitality

that is all.

>ANaerobic
any good exercice to recommend?

I'm going to Thailand to train at a Muay Thai gym for 6 months. I plan on taking educational materials and a variety of books to read in my downtime. Discipline, physical training and a disconnect from the internet is going to be massive change for me.

When I come back, I'll be continuing my training, continuing to educate myself and selling my computer to get one that cannot run any games.
>>

funny, I went to thailand, trained muay thai as well. but other than that I was still procrastinating on the things I need to do (regarding my business). No magic bullet I guess, but it still feels great to fight.

doesn't matter as long as your heart rate enters an anaerobic level (age contingent -- google it)

but a rule of thumb is 'compound exercises' elicit more blood-flow because more muscles are being used -- e.g., mountain climbers (push-up position + running while horizontal)... but diversity is the key (to alleviate boredom) and you may have to start below 1min... 30 sec warm-up followed by 30s high intensity... something like that

running on treadmill is archaic exercise only housewives and fat cunts who know no better waste time with -- far more glucose is burnt by raising RMR (resting metabolic rate) than sporadic exercise...and if one's metabolism is up, their brains function closer to optimum and the last thing they want to do is watch the idiot box

(also look into modafinil -- completely safe awakeness-promoting drug -- doctors, uni students and the military use it)

that's called "going cold turkey", and much like dieting, it rarely, if ever, works

that, and thais kick HARD (...and their ladyboys are hard to pick)

I was working for awhile at a casino. I was making a great amount of money for a few years and then I became extremely depressed and apathetic. Became a NEET and lived off my savings in a shitty apartment. I need to do something that shows me I am capable of achieving something worthwhile.

Even if it does nothing in the long run, I'll at least have done something I can be proud of. I'll most likely join the military and get a trade when I come back to Australia.

I'm in a position where all I do is talk to foreigners online to practice my language skills and play the piano. I want to get out of my current environment and try something new. I don't feel like I can proceed forward from my current position due to my lack of discipline and very little confidence. I like to exercise, which is why I think this will be a good decision for me.

if you play piano, your brain should at least be firing a few synapses... especially if you're unafraid of the gym

don't see why one would be going through a 'crisis' under such circumstances... perhaps all the dreary international news is getting to you... perhaps it's /pol/
>>
>>65968680
Perhaps you're right. /pol/ has aided in making me miserable, but I wouldn't put it all on this website. Run through some rough relationships and struggle to give a damn anymore. I'm not sure what I could do if I didn't join the military. I'm not particularly intelligent, so STEM is out of the question. I'm 25 years old with very little skills aside from a year 12 education. I'm grasping at straws here. Automation is coming for basic jobs as well, so a decent trade such as Heavy Automotive seems like it offers a semblance of job security.

Get a job. If you have a job, what you do in your leisure time doesn't matter.

Go to the gym, take up a sport, one that requires self discipline. Asians like fencing, take up that.
Go for walks. The more physical and practical the better.

No no no, anime is degenerate. For hobbies, I recommend getting into cycling. This is easy, time consuming, and will make you very fit.
>>
>>65971349
Depends what anime it is. Modern shit is shit, that's a fact. Some of the classics are quite good and have been just as influential as some works of literature. Take up a sport that requires dedication and discipline, boxing, fencing, are there any Martial arts centres near you?.
>>
>>65971349
idk. i like to maybe work 1 hour, then watch a few anime episodes, eventually work 1 hour again
i don't really like having a time consuming hobby.
maybe draw for a bit, maybe read a book, etc.
i'd think cycling will make you tired, want to take a shower, hungry, etc. it would just give me excuses to procrastinate

>>65966484
just do it

first I need to stop browsing facebook.
Unfortunately I need it for my work but I spend countless time browsing the newsfeed, its a poisonous habit.
>>
What's degenerate is asking for advice on how to stop being degenerate.

I know I am degenerate and I know I will continue being degenerate.
>>
>>65966933
It should be 1.5 hours for work. Half hour rest. Or do the Pomodoro technique. (25 minutes work, 5 minutes rest on first to third cycle, 15 minute rest on the end of the fourth cycle).
>>
>>65972284
i've unfollowed all my "friends" aside from some grills i like.
i follow some anime and science pages, and only check the new fb updates like once a day
>>
>>65972284
Facebook depresses the hell out of me. Nothing but clueless cunts on there. It's like being married to 10 women without any of the benefits.

not the same. tv is cattle feed, youtube is more like reading book, albeit shitty books.
