I agree, he is the best option for sure. A lot of people see him as the only sane republican candidate, so he would potentially be very attractive for voters who have second thoughts about Trump. Trump has also said that he wants someone with political experience; Kasich has this going for him as well. Lastly, he already has solid name recognition (compared to the people who usually get picked for VP), which I imagine would be another advantage.
