My parents came to the states in the 70s. Back when Yugoslav was still a thing. Yugoslav wasn't Croatia, it was another Commie pipe dream.
I myself was born in America, so I always considered myself American. Only now have I realized that want to reconnect with my people, but I am unfortunately not a very good Croat. However, I am taking language.lessons now.
