/pol/ what does it take for you to accept a non-white person as, say, a proper American?
For me:

Thoughts? I know like two minorities who I consider "American." One is some Indian guy who is probably lurking /pol/ right now and got me into Ron Paul. The other is a Korean guy who escaped Best Korea and loses his shit when Berniefags tell him that socialism just has a bad rep in America.

i grew up in sheltered white dominated suburban city in OC.
I moved to Mumbai at 17.
Returned to US and went to several CCC in greater LA
supported myself and suffered homelessness (injury->lose employment-> no insurance, many consequences)....so I have been exposed to many different communities. I don't think any of these qualities you list matter in relationship to my experience. In fact, I think most of your criteria is irrelevant to the definition of a citizen of the USA. we don't need to share the same culture, we need to share the same goals.

Trends show that most minorities do not like to assimilate to a great degree. Many often stick with their own kind in communities and keep their customs and beliefs even if they clash with ours.
Strangely enough, I feel more respect for immigrants who are like this but come here and just work hard and keep to themselves. Their children however seem to have a bizarre conflict of interest.

The funny thing is while I may come off as shitty, I do know liberal Muslims exist who can be American. Plenty of Persians I know who left Iran in the blowout from '79 are American as fuck while retaining some of their traditions such as their delicious cuisine.
