Is this the beginning of an honest look at the Syrian war?

Some excerpts:

>COVERAGE OF the Syrian war will be remembered as one of the most shameful episodes in the history of the American press. Reporting about carnage in the ancient city of Aleppo is the latest reason why.

>For three years, violent militants have run Aleppo. Their rule began with a wave of repression. They posted notices warning residents: “Don’t send your children to school. If you do, we will get the backpack and you will get the coffin.” Then they destroyed factories, hoping that unemployed workers would have no recourse other than to become fighters. They trucked looted machinery to Turkey and sold it.

>Under intense financial pressure, most American newspapers, magazines, and broadcast networks have drastically reduced their corps of foreign correspondents. Much important news about the world now comes from reporters based in Washington. In that environment, access and credibility depend on acceptance of official paradigms. Reporters who cover Syria check with the Pentagon, the State Department, the White House, and think tank “experts.” After a spin on that soiled carousel, they feel they have covered all sides of the story. This form of stenography produces the pabulum that passes for news about Syria.

This isn't some fringe publication, it's the Boston Globe. Prepare to see major hit pieces on this article from the usual suspects.

It's Bush and the Republicans' fault

How so? It was Obama and Hillary that pushed the "controlled chaos" strategy. In fact, Hillary still hasn't backed down from that position.
>>

>most comments think Assad is the bad guy

wow Americans are truly dumb
>>
>>65475025
So it's basically a reveal of how the almost entirely biased and unfree American media has become even more biased and unfree?

I don't see what the fuck else the general public needs to know about Syria. At least, what the average person is capable of digesting.
>>
>>65476120
Boston Globe tends to be liberal so of course it's readership is going to take any attack on our current policy as a direct jab at Obama.
>>
>>65476168
The fact that it's coming from a MSM outlet like the Boston Globe is going to ruffle some feathers. When it comes to the Syrian conflict, the MSM has one voice.
>>
>>65476120
To be fair, nobody can square this as good or bad.

We've had Syrians come on here and tell us that while Assad is probably the best temporary bet for civility, he truly has lost the loyalty of many of his people due to rights violations.

That said, Left or Right, it's fascinating how much the anti Shiite propaganda has sunk in
>>
>>65476296
What right violations?
>>
>>65476296
>We've had Syrians come on here and tell us
This is anecdotal evidence and isn't really the point of the article. The MSM has only allowed one narrative to be disseminated on their networks and it is in lockstep with Washington DC.

>reading american news
RT and is the only way to go

Kudos to Boston globe though

This is the most important thing published by major news media for a decade.

We should emblazon it on /pol/ because it's confirmation of everything we've been saying for years.

I think it's an irony of our information age where the web has allowed for access to tons of information. At the same time this has really undermined the role that the media used to play. More and more people are cynical about media outlets and tend to flock to information that verified their preconceived notions. It's like a dark age with reverse causes.

>Washington-based reporters tell us that one potent force in Syria, al-Nusra, is made up of “rebels” or “moderates,” not that it is the local al-Qaeda franchise. Saudi Arabia is portrayed as aiding freedom fighters when in fact it is a prime sponsor of ISIS. Turkey has for years been running a “rat line” for foreign fighters wanting to join terror groups in Syria, but because the United States wants to stay on Turkey’s good side, we hear little about it. Nor are we often reminded that although we want to support the secular and battle-hardened Kurds, Turkey wants to kill them. Everything Russia and Iran do in Syria is described as negative and destabilizing, simply because it is they who are doing it — and because that is the official line in Washington.

There are no good or moderate Muslims. Find the most anti-Islam strongman, like Sisi, and back him.
>>

Assad and his Alawite sect are considered apostates by a significant portion of Muslims. No wonder He's the most sane choice to lead Syria.
>>
>Turkish-Saudi backed ‘moderate rebels’ showered the residential neighborhoods of Aleppo with unguided rockets and gas jars

thats exactly what happened in Tripoli, Libya Dawn forces didnt have nay experiance with the weapons they had and caused many deaths cus of it, they have manpower but we have experiance and they are still losing, hopfully syria will see the same

Not likely because the owner is filthy rich. The paper answers to no one. He also owns the Boston Red Sox (professional big league baseball team).

>Inevitably, this kind of disinformation has bled into the American presidential campaign. At the recent debate in Milwaukee, Hillary Clinton claimed that United Nations peace efforts in Syria were based on “an agreement I negotiated in June of 2012 in Geneva.” The precise opposite is true. In 2012 Secretary of State Clinton joined Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Israel in a successful effort to kill Kofi Annan’s UN peace plan because it would have accommodated Iran and kept Assad in power, at least temporarily. No one on the Milwaukee stage knew enough to challenge her.

How could that be changed, you think?

I recall that a single BLM protester managed to make her look anti-black.

The Boston Globe was never allowed to publish this. Expect a ton of people to get fired and have mysterious "accidents" over the next few months. The Jewluminati do not fuck around when it comes to holes in their media manipulation.

Its about time someone ran a story like this, the BBC is still quotes the 'SOHR' in almost every story about Syria. The 'SOHR' is literally just one man who 'fled' Syria after multiple criminal convictions and now runs a knock off clothes shop in Coventry, England and runs the 'Syrian Human Rights Observatory' from the 1 bedroom flat above it. Yet his word is gospel to the BBC.

The media is so purposefully misleading about the events in Syria everyone I speak too is completely surprised when they find out that Aleppo is actually the name of a province and not just a city; and that the media portrait of a city under constant Russian bombardment is pure media spin.
>>
>>65481194
Dutch media also use that moron as a "credible source"

Its repulsive and majorly rustles my jimmies

yeah, it's quite sad that dipshits like that get so much credit for spewing nothing but propaganda while the few journalists that actually took the effort to make the dangerous journey through syria and it's different fractions get almost no credit.
