At this point its basically Europe and Europeans learning the hard way about culture clash and the third world.
Hopefully they will learn that no good deed goes unpunished and that your culture and gene-pool need to be protected no matter what. I'm doubtful that this will happen however.
If the west truly wanted to help the third world shitters escape economical strife, its merely a matter of cost and building infrastructure in these countries. Sure they might break it and you will have to rebuild it, but its a lot cheaper then destroying your country from within.
The civil wars in Libya, Syria and Iraq are a direct result of the West's foreign policy, so perhaps the next step would be to not support one side or another too much.
Having the strongmen be secular like Gadhafi and Assad was about as lucky as you will get in the parts of the world that are still tribal. Destroying their country by supporting the radical Islamist is something the Europeans are responsible for.

The real question is, will things change in 20 years?
