1/4th of my family from grandfather's side escaped to Rhodesia from communism, After settling there for couple decades they were forced to flee to Australia when Rhodesia has fallen apart. My grandmother came back to Zimbabwe in early 90's. In her "Memories", a diary she's written recently I read that most of black house servants greeted her with cheers and teared up during the reunion, begging her to greet the "boss" for on their behalf, unbeknownst that he was dead for nearly a decade. It was really touching.
