Don't. It's one of the most expensive states to live in and there are no job opportunities. The economy here has been pretty much destroyed by big corporations that have killed all the local business. The mills are all closing down and heroin addiction is on the rise. Fauna and nature seem to be great there and they're similar to Finland, except they have mountains too. The northern states are usually over 90% white, peaceful and safe.

I haven't visited Omaha much, I wouldn't recommend it, there's too many blacks, Lincoln I lived in for two years, I personally didn't like it. Grand Island is pretty crappy, has a large hispanic population. North Platte is stagnated city. Kearney is probably one of the best places to live in Nebraska, it's a nice city, that has a nice university. There is some really nice small towns spread around central Nebraska, like Broken Bow.

I can't speak for OP, but taxes in Germany aren't low either. I know a few programmers from Germany who are fucking pissed and want to move to the States, because they are getting RAPED by the state + their salaries are way lower than in the US. One guy with ~10 years of experience earns about 50k euros annually. The state takes half of that away in taxes then he has to pay rent and other bills etc. He was literally trigerred when he was telling me all this and his dream was to get the fuck out of Germany asap.
