Security guards are expensive. You have to pay them by the hour, and their wages are generally higher than any of these fast food or stores pay their workers. You have to have one all the time for the uncommon event of when you need a security guard, or else they'll just strike when you don't have a guard.
Also, if they know you have a security guard, and it's just one, they'll often just go straight for the security guard and take him out before anyone has any opportunity to know what's happening.

A few minutes later he tried to leave and I scanned him again, this time finding his phone. I informed him he needed to leave it in his car before returning so he called me a bitch and left.
30 minutes later he came back with his phone and tried to go in the building; I told him to go put it in his car or go home. He pretended to do this but left his fucking car keys on my table when he went outside.
For his last return I expected him to pull something or be aggressive so I propped my phone up and recorded the area where I want the employees. This is pretty much required for dealings with Negros in today's US because if not you will be called a racist assailant.
