Well i was born in 1990, so i myself cant remember it. Its mostly the older people that teary eyed when speaking about the dissolution.
But hey, we dont have anyone now to blame for our errors, so its maybe better. I dont consider czech a really foreign nation, the language is basically the same.
Greetings to Germany desu senpai, we had a lot of Carpathian Germans over here, a large part of my family spoke German at home, we had German schools etc. unfortunately that changed after WWII. Ist vielleicht der Grund warum ich fließend Deutsch sprechen kann :-).
City trips - nothing much to see. Bratislava - a lot of communist ugly buildings. Košice - the city center is quite okay. Other cities - too small, you can see them in a few minutes lol.
Nature - of course the High Tatra mountains, if you will be around, you are welcomed anon.

Czech republic had a better starting position. Compare our GDP per capita after independence and theirs. But now are almost on pair with them. I think we will surpass them in the near future, not sure desu senpai though.

Croatia - yes, we really do like you. Most of the slovaks travel to croatia. I was there 3 times (Trogir, Baška, Biograd) myself. Its pain in the ass but we can even communicate using our own languages, which is really great.
