Australia's insult-heavy constantly-teasing banter culture seems similar to other country's male-only environments, like a prison or military unit where men want to seem tough so constantly have a go at each other, I guess it's that way because a lot of the people there were literally from prisons and if you moved there consensual you were probably a tough bastard to want to survive in that harsh environment anyway.
