Most religious people are born into it. I never received a word of religious education, and so to me, interpreting any religion in a literal manner seems batshit fucking insane.
It's not atheism which leads to Islam; if there was even such a possibility for a person, I could not call them an atheist. It's edgy rebellion or clique mentality which may lead to either atheism or Islam in a Christian environment simply because they are not Christianity.

Catholic school isn't usually the best route IMO. I don't know much about the Canadian education system, but you're probably better off sending kids to a public school with supplemental tutoring.
From my experience with Catholic schools, they don't usually offer a good balanced education across the board and have limited learning and extracurricular opportunities. Although if you search hard enough and pay enough, you'll probably find one that suits your fancy.
Also if you do send them to a Catholic school, 9/10 they will turn into sex deprived addicts trying to fill a void.

Yeah, even though I don't believe in any of it. My girlfriend is Catholic, I was confirmed when I was younger, and I feel it would be respectful to my ancestors to carry on their tradition. However, one way or another I will have to explain to my kids that i don't believe in God or Jesus, and that Catholicism is about respecting our family lineage rather than worshipping God. I don't know how I'm going to handle this yet. Plus there will be major pressure from the family to raise my kids Catholic and having a happy extended family is beneficial.
Even though I don't believe, I don't regret being raised Catholic by my devout mother and her immediate family. There's always a community I can feel I'm a part of. I keep my mouth shut about not believing, unless I think the person can handle hearing that, and I never use the trigger word "atheist" in real life, ever. That would be the same as saying devil-worshipper, or God-hater, to many religious people.
