My cousin tried to join the FBI and they went so far back into his past during his background check. They interviewed his elementary school classmates and found out about a time where he stole another students shoes out of his locker as a prank.
I went to a public university and they had a recruitment drive, found that they are extremely common.
Don't feel like looking it up but it seems that like the FBI there is a minimum requirement of having an undergraduate degree.

I live in LA. Once a year a local gun store owner throws a party and invites smart kids and CIA recruiters (no kidding). You get interviewed and scouted right there.
Here they mainly look for people who speak 3+ languages fluently. For instance I speak English, Persian and Armenian fluently and understand a bit of Arabic. I could easily get in if I wanted.

It's actually not too hard. You have to go through a year long process for your background check though. Because of security clearance. That's mostly for agents though. Your family gets good benefits and you get a nice house and lots of money in whatever country your stationed in, even if it's a shit hole. Plus private tutors. You honestly have to be a hardass for field work. Like not being scared walking in the worst parts of Mexico at night alone. There's always clerical jobs though like finance and accounting and IT like every other department. Also a perk is you can move to other departments of the government pretty easily. Like moving to NSA, DOD, FBI and so on.
Just know they straight up tell you as an agent that they're hiring you to break laws in foreign countries to gather intelligence and or catch bad guys.
It's crazy that they're so blunt about it. Recruiters come by cities every now and then especially for university students.
Also a degree isn't required. You just need to be trustworthy, hence the longass interview and background check process. A decent amount don't have formal education. Holding a job for more than a year helps though. Proves you can stick to it
