Poland used to be behind the iron curtain. It's only the last 10 years since joining the EU that people other than white people have been moving to the country.
Most of us in the west are used to the idea of different cultures/races in their homeland. For the polish this is totally new.
Add to this the fact that polish culture is quite violent where "men are men" and settle things with a fight is totally normal you end up with race violence.
