This whole thing has been fascinating to watch. I'm old enough to remember 9/11 well. I remember seeing the celebrations on the fucking news.
I also remember in 2004, Thomas Friedman went around the middle east trying to look as fat and stupid as possible, as he does. He was interviewing muslims about 9/11, and they all fucking admitted they were thrilled. "We wanted America to get a bloody nose" or some such was a common refrain.
