I disagree. If anything we need more of a resurgence of faith in the church in Ireland. We know pretty much nothing about Irish history before St. Patrick got their other than what we can infer from archaeology and folklore.
The influence pre-Norman Ireland exerted on western Europe (which was pretty significant) was pretty much entirely thanks to Christianity.
Plus Celtic paganism isn't really much of a religion. It's not some codified thing like Christianity or Greco-Roman paganism, there's no comprehensive list of deities or theology or philosophy or specific ritual attached to it. It's not worth believing in.
