One could argue that it is too light for self defense but the guns are very easy for smaller women and children to handle. They can shoot it much more accurately to hit the heart or face. Most 22s also hold a lot of rounds so you end up getting shot 5 times instead of once. .22s can be super small guns if that is your thing.

I was talking to the guy at the Cabela's gun counter doing the background check, and he said (November 19th) that he's been working there since he retired (since 2000), and the gun counter has NEVER been so busy.
