I'm not a smoker, but in my opinion alcohol is much more harmful to society than cigarettes will ever be. Cigarettes are only harmful to the individual smoking, while alcohol can hurt and even cause death to the people around you. I've never heard stories of people being killed in fights, or car accidents due to cigarettes while the same cannot be said for alcohol.
