If someone tries to claim that beauty is a social construction, show the data that shows that every place in the planet, therefore every every culture, has about the same preferable shoulder-waist (I think it is this ratio, I'm sure about waist but not about shoulder) for their ideal women or man. This is a biological trait not a social one, since if this was socially construct you would expect different standards from different cultures like new York City and an amazon tribe, but that is not the case. You can observe this also on those sculptures and paintings from centuries ago that shows about the same ratio, even those paintings of fatass women (the waist is big but if you look it up, you realize that it compensates elsewhere in a way that the ratio does not change). So it crosses time borders as well. Beauty cant be a pure social construct in any way. I heard this from a karen straughan vídeo with Gad Saad, but it cant be hard to find the source in Google.
What I'm wondering is what is the specific topic of the debate? Most debates tend to start from a complete, grammatically coherent question to minimize confusion. The topic is fat acceptance? So, are they going to get up there and say fat people should not be social outcasts? That would suck, you can't argue that fat people deserve no friends. Are they arguing that fat should be considered beautiful? That you can work with
