A country of free borders would be great if we werent over 7 billion people on this planet, the world can only give 2 billion people an european life style. We are projected to be 9 billion and growing by 2050, we are using all our finitie resources on this planet, so countries have to have borders in order to protect its resources from others.
We cannot have an open border society when there are too many people on this planet, we dont have the resources to sustain everyone on a western lifestyle. The only way to have open borders is with countries of equal value, hence the european union. Bottom line is that there are too many humans alive today. You want a utopia of human sharing then it is imperative we kill off more than half the population and sustain iits growth on a sustainable level.
