Snipers come in teams of 2. Marksman can operate solo. Also snipers deal in longer distances typically.

sniper teams are often totally isolated from all of their support. they have many, many jobs, other than making first-shot kills. they need lots of training in E&E and concealment and so on, just to survive. when they do have to kill someone, they'll regularly encounter superior forces, many men, and depend entirely on taking a shot that cannot be traced back to its source, because they'll be shot at.
LEO DMs are fucking sitting on a chair, in armor, with one or two spotters, all in the wide open, eating a ham sandwich, chatting with command that's only 50 feet behind them in a huge party van on loud-ass radios, less than 100 yards from a crazy naked man waving a kitchen knife around. their job is to shoot the man's dog, or his hostages, then just stand up, walk away, and file some paperwork.
