Hello, /pol/acks, Ivan here.

All funny racial/nationalistic/sexist jokes aside, I'd like to bring up an interesting theme, which may seem a little bit offtopic and odd at first.

Anon, do you suffer from anxiety due to frequent news scrolling and stuff? Does it affect your daily activities in an adverse way?

I am fucking 19, not ugly, quite handsome in fact, finished school with top grades, yet after I started reading mainstream news, everything started to plummet. Last 2 weeks I've been sitting home, jacking off occasionally, playing video games and monitoring news feeds. I am worried about the world, all crazy and sick retards like ISIS just make me feel sick in my stomach. I am depressed by the fact that majority of people in the world, regardless of their nationality are retarded. Everyone just reeks of unmotivated primal aggression and stupidity.

Those depressive feelings lead me to apathy and inability to do something productive, I am just too engaged in this bullshit. I could've been fucking a beatiful girl, making music, finishing my robotics and mechatronics degree and lifting, but instead I am doing nothing in my life.

I spend my time nervously checking the news, reading about political science theories, stuff like controlled chaos theory and horseshoe theory, occasionally lurking at sites with legit philosophy like Kant and Heraclitus (the concept of enantiodromia of whom heavily influenced my personal philosophy) trying to comprehend their ideas, for I try to overcome this anxiety by building a personal system of thought, which would help me to cope. I feel like I need to cut this shit and just go get a life, but my anxiety doesn't permit me to do so.

For some reason I am sure, I am not alone like this here. I'd like to know if some anons here can feel sympathy regarding my situation.
>>
kek. I know that feel. Just stop browsing pol that much. it's that simple

Yes. It happens to everyone here to some degree.
You need to find something useful to occupy your time on non Happening times.
>>
>>56795741
>I could've been fucking a beatiful girl,

how?
>>
>>56795741
What you're describing happens to many of us, mate.
In the end you'll realize that you can't change anything, and you'll start working on your education and goals simply so that you can give yourself and your own children a good life.
He вoлнyйcя бpaтaн.

God can help you anon.

You really just need to learn to stop caring.

Also,
>occasionally lurking at sites with legit philosophy like Kant and Heraclitus (the concept of enantiodromia of whom heavily influenced my personal philosophy) trying to comprehend their ideas, for I try to overcome this anxiety by building a personal system of thought, which would help me to cope.

First, actually read the philosophers. There are so many benefits that come with reading philosophy, especially German philosophers because they can be incredibly difficult to read. Once you get used to reading people like Hegel, Heidegger, and Kant, virtually EVERYTHING you read after that will be so much easier to comprehend.

I'd recommend reading some philosophers that touch upon existential themes. Read Nietzsche, but do make sure that you understand that he is NOT a nihilist. Many people read nihilism into Nietzsche's work when he actually tries to argue that we need to accept that nihilism exists, and we must subsequently create our own meaning to live with it.

I'd also recommend reading Kierkegaard whether or not you are religious.

I don't know if this helps or not, but my honest advice is that you need to accept that you can't do anything to change the way things are. You need to just learn to live your own life to the best of your ability. I was just like you until I accepted that.

First of all.Almost all /pol/lacks have Schizoid personality,Not schizophrenic.Schizoid

Now on what you re describing. Its called anxiety disorder bruh.It is often combined with depression. Its a good sign that you diagnosed the problem early.Meds wont help you in long term but nor will /pol/.

So try to live simpler and dont think too much before shit hits the fan and a mental breakdown comes

Also, OP, if you're genuinely interested in learning about philosophy, check out this website.

http://historyofphilosophy.net/

The podcast chronologically covers the history of philosophy, philosophers, and philosophical themes. While you won't get anything too in depth, you'll be able to learn about many different philosophies so that you can branch off from there. For example, the most recent time period covers the ancient Indian philosophy of "Street Pooing."

when this happens to me, i take a break from /pol/

i also stopped using social media about 3 years ago
>>
The main thing that worries me is not the events that unfold but people's blase attitude. I have a huge anxiety about world leaders being dumb career politicians and not being able to improvise during a crisis like this turkey shit. Like when Obama says "we stand by our NATO allies" because dats wat da guidelines say hurr.
>>
>>56795741

Stop making excuses, see a doctor for anti-anxiety meds and get on with your life.
>>
>>56796078

Thanks for your suggestion.
Didn't try reading Nietzsche, though tried comprehending Shopenhauer, his "The World as Will and Representation", to be more specific.

Dropped halfway through the Ontology part, for it appears that it implies prior better understanding of Kant's ideas.

Hello Ivan,

>I feel like I need to cut this shit and just go get a life, but my anxiety doesn't permit me to do so.
Do you have anything else that's stopping you? Anxiety is to some degree under your own control.
Personally, I have a problem with other people ruining my opportunities and I can't do anything about that.

Best regards,
Hendrik de Vries

The first thing that you should read and understand is Kant's Critique of Pure Reason. It is incredibly dense and quite difficult, but take it slow and use a commentary alongside it. The other areas that writes about, such as morals, politics, etc. all draw from what he deduces in the Critique.

Don't feel like you can't use a guide of some sort. Even experienced philosophers struggle with Kant.

I'm diagnosed with schizophrenia and have a useless political science degree.. I am always aware that the happening is happening. Eventually you will learn to enjoy the misfortune of others. I plan to rot in my chair, doing my part to take down my government by taking my bux. Fucking normies are going to face the brunt of the happening.

If you want to go be a normie, watch hollywood news.

>>56795741
Hey there, Boris. There's no such thing as journalism anymore, everything is propaganda. Once you understand that, and you know it's all fiction, you'll feel better.

>Anon, do you suffer from anxiety due to frequent news scrolling and stuff? Does it affect your daily activities in an adverse way?

something closer to a rush with a dash of restlessness

also glued to /pol/ for days during B'More riots

all the anons that are telling you to find something to do when happenings are not happening are correct - go outside and get some sunshine

venture a guess that there is some psychological addiction to happenings and being on /pol/ soaking up so much of it becomes addictive
>>
>>56796529
Same here. Acknowledging the sheer complexity of international relations, it sometimes boggles me, how stupid and primitive political measures, which certain political figures exhibit, can be taken seriously as means of solution to certain non-typical problems global society faces today. Age of populism indeed.
>>
>>56795741
Ivan, it's me, klaas.
I have the same problem, i'm 18 and i have had such a problem for the last 2 years.
I am also failing school because i can't seem to be productive.

>Anon, do you suffer from anxiety due to frequent news scrolling and stuff?
No, my anxiety comes from non-existent problems. The only thing /pol/ has done is make me drop Catholicism for Calvinism
>>

Stop reading the news then, it's not like you can do more than vote for the most nationalistic party you can find every couple of years anyway.
>>

The funny thing is, I acknowledge how retarded my situation is. Lol. I suspect I have some kind of hero-schizoid-complex Kiritsugu-style, which makes me overly caring about people, whom I don't even know. I try to think of the world globally, as if I am capable of doing something about those dire things. I suppose it also has to do something with post-puberty maximalism.

Also, I wanted to go to the Kreator concert, but crossed out that idea after shit hit the fan in France, I am now paranoid about terrorist acts.

>>
>''building a personal system of tought, which would help me to cope''
The way you're using the internet,in this case /pol/ ,is doing just the opposite of that .Just stop and think how much of a cesspool this website is.
I am in a somewhat similar situation +porn addiction.

And the thing you call ''anxiety''.That's such un unhelpful term for a myriad of problems from which you may learn a lot more if you took the time to analyse them.

Maybe I'm in no position to give advice but you should try looking up TheSchoolOfLife on youtube and their books(which are AMAZING)(also Alain Buton). It's a great foundation on which you can start building a system of understanding the world and yourself thingy.I highly recommend it.

And stop using the internet as your main source of obtaining knowledge.I won't go into much detail about it but basically you just clutter your brain in very harmful ways and at the end of the day you brain starts to become more of a storage facility rather than something that comes up with it's own interpretatin of things.

There are many other things I'd probably say right now but bottomline is if you care about who you are and what you learn you should probably shy away from 4chan in general....

One last thing:/pol/ isn't a very good way to interact with reality. It portays it in a very twisted and just plain mediocre manner.Plus you are what you are mostly the things you surroudn yourself with.

P.S:I'm sorry if I was inchorent.I really hoped it helped at least a bit.

PSS:I like Slavoj Zizek

PSSS:Check out Hot Sugar .He's a great musician.

That's all nice (whatever post-puberty maximalism is) but more concretely, do you have the option to, for example, register a website and get clean feedback on it? Like you know for certain that the feedback is legit? Do you have any problems where the docs or a tutoring website about algebra have their text strangely malformed? It's damn hard to focus on what you're working on with that kind of stuff.

I suspect the people who do this try to keep it subtle enough that they can tell themselves it's not real sabotage but of course it is. In fact, by keeping it subtle it's easy to confuse the clean and poisoned which makes it worse. I'm pretty sure they're aware of that and the culture of the places where they work encourages an approach like that.

But in the end, since I've already offered to trade what they say they care about and they don't accept my offer, that pretty much confirms that they don't want anything else than this. Despite threads like these I think they would hate nothing more than if I did cut this shit and just got a life and I think they'd do anything to prevent it from happening.

I know that,

I am not the person who jumps to conclusions after taking a cursory look at a newspaper.

That fact actually causes me to read through various papers from different sides to sort out the propaganda stuff and try to forge an objective overview. There are no angels in politics. Every politician has some blood on their hands, it is an opportunity cost for maintaining the state, as it seems.

In every country the majority is stupid, it needs to be fed with some A-grade bullshit by CNN/Pervyj Kanal to ensure that it keeps ignoring inner issues by creating an illusional external threat. Every state uses it, USA/Russia/China/France/etc. all implement it in their policies, again, an inevitable opportunity cost for state maintenance.

1. Stop visiting the msm.
2. Begin prepping; storing food, growing a garden ect...
Both these things will help you 'feel' in control.
Forget the theories and shit mate. Its going to be war, the die has been cast.
Pick your team and play your hand.
I choose 'team white nationalisim'. I feel like its a safeish bet.
I would advise against betting on 'team international socalisim', their track record is pretty bad.

whats that?

I think a lot of people here can relate.
I feel like i have to browse /pol/ in order to be updated on the situation, but try to limit it to a certain degree.
Try installing a siteblocker that only allows you a limited time per day on 4chan.
And stop browsing /pol/ AT LEAST 2 hours before bedtime.

It wil make a huge difference, believe me.
The entire situation is not as bad as it seems on /pol/
We still have a few (at least 4) good years to wake up. Everything is still under controll. The libtards will realise that importing islam is a bad thing.
Feminism and degeneracy will stagnate. Gay-marriage is accepted, but pedo will never be.
You chose a decent degree that will get you a job in the future.
The white race will not die out and the huge population increase in the middle-east and africa will stagnate.
India is not going to be a superpower and in the event of a major war, nukes will not be used on a daily base.

Even tho shitposters like these are the reason a lot of us are on edge, he has some valid points.
Get on with your life, start lifting, it will make you feel better.
If you want to feel safe, but a weapon.
I have no idea how your gun laws are, but if you can't get one, buy a crossbow and a machete.
Something to keep under your bed.

Look up mindfullness, it may appear like asian hipster hippy bullshit, but it is proven it can calm you down.
