Nathan was a great character
Jay is an unbelievable character. We are supposed to believe he is a hyper-rational mathematician/programmer and ALSO an overly-sympathetic/empathetic human that will help a robot. This is where the film lost me. This would not happen.
If anything he would of suspected it was all part of the test - including Nathan's behavior - an attempt to introduce biases (or negate them).
