Former black college student here, I have no problem with whites having a student union depending on their on how they conduct themselves, plenty of the black and African groups as well as black frats at my school let non blacks participate in their events and activities and in some cases join, same went for a lot of the Asian groups. Where the issue comes from is that white groups have a history being absolutely rotted to non whites . My mom went to UVA in one the early desegrated classes and there were student groups who basically dedicated their lives to trying to run women and blacks off campus. If you want to celebrate your heritage that's cool just don't do it by being a dick to everyone else

I go to UBC a very large public school with an ever growing asian population, on campus we have many diverse groups, the chinese varsity club, tawanise association, etc. Asian origin students make up 60% of campus. As a half asian half white man I enjoy those clubs sometimes. My white side is a mix Celtic and british, my white side is second generation and grew up in canada. I identify as a white lower middle class man. Where can I go to have a place to enjoy my values like celtic rock, and Guinness . But the TA or CVC can have keggers all the time that have nothing to do with being Chinese of Taiwanese.
