The only reason why people say no is because of lack of knowledge.
>>
>>56732729
It would have been reasonably safe at Fukushima too, except that they hadn't updated the reactor since the 70s and they weren't maintaining any of the backup systems. Japanese power companies are kind of notorious for being shitty.

Buzzword. It's still not ready for production applications.

Yes. Any 4th generation reactor

>>
>>56732637
It's ecologically the safest power on the market. Costwise it's also cheaper than the majority of other energy sources on the market. A jumpstart in nuclear energy could also potentially push research forward with more modern tech. It's win-win.

>inb4 some eurokek tries to talk shit with wind power
Not even close to being cost efficient or ecologically sound.

I worked in the industry from 2002-2009, then again from 2012-2014. Security at most sites is a borderline joke. Fix that then yes. Operationally speaking they're run by a myriad of procedures that make them the safest facilities in the world and are a powerful source of fairly clean energy. Once we figure out what to do with the ever increasing stockpile of spent fuel they will be even better.
>>
Of course yes. But not for Ukraine and Japan, they are not worthy.

>>
>>56732637

>>
>>56732637
No, mostly to do with the problem of dealing with the waste - it remains deadly for timescales that are far beyond our abilities to guarantee that it will remain safe and will not contaminate the biosphere. Also the potential consequences when accidental/intentional contamination does occur. Finally, that it produces material for WMDs.
>>
>>56732637

It's too dangerous. Nuclear power makes it easier for countries to develop nuclear weapons. India used material produced from a joint Canada/USA research reactor to develop its nukes. There is no way to police it effectively.
>>
>>56734251
You play bo3? If you do, that's why you don't realize what is wrong with fallout 4. No rpg elements, dialogue system is watered down, leveling system is utter shit, settlement building has no purpose but to waste time and produce times/caps:

Its shit. Its call of duty set in 50s post-post-apocalypse with rpg elements. The factions suck, just like skyrim.
>>
>>56734459
look up generation 4 reactor. They reuse the waste from previous reactor generations.
>>
>>56734459
Load it onto rockets and fire that shit onto the moon. It sounds so simple and stupid, but it makes sense. Remember gasoline used to be considered a waste product.

Fire up those nuclear power plants, waste products kept on moon until someone can find a use for it.

>>
>>56735027
This is something I was actually thinking about. There should be some sort of global committee in charge of overseeing nuclear powerplant construction. Making sure they are ran safely, in a safe spot, and shit isn't leaking. The only issue with this is governments are known for corruption.

>>56735067
Please, the moon is a barren rock and useful for nothing more than a jumping point to Mars.
>there's no radiation in space

>No rpg elements

So the loot system, character customisation, exp, SPECIAL system, inventory management, dialogue choices. Not a single one of these is RPG relevant?

Its a watered down rehashed piece of shit that even normies are seeing how shit it is. I played it for 8 hours and haven't picked it up since. Holy shit nothing says fun like throwing pieces of shits on guns that do absolutely nothing but "do +10% damage to ghouls" bravo Todd. Also removing skills is such a slap in the face the game is so fucking easy it not even remotely fun.

Only reason I even pirated it was the modding community..
>>
>>56734495

No. I have been playing PC RPG games since the 90's. If I wanted RPG elements of a stronger quality I will play something else. I just know how to relax and take a game for what it is.
>>
daily reminder that Iran has nuclear power and there are states in the United States that still run off of coal
>>
>>56735335
The forced story for muh son and the voice for the protagonist just ruins it. You could make a nigger and the voice would not match whatsoever (not like I would ever make a black).

For special I don't if it's completely an improvement. I wished they mixed that and skills. There is no level cap for such a small game. It just comes down to endless grinding at some points.

For speech and writing of dialogue, it literally doesn't matter what you say. You get the same generic response. It only really affects what your companion thinks of you. It's shit.
>>
>>56733659
Not likely.

You can't cross the fence without being spotted.
There's 30 police officers trained by our SWAT.
All access to reactor buildings and control rooms are sealed.
SWAT would be called for any serious threat.
>>
>>56735249

None of that matters once the material is used in bombs. Any nation that develops nuclear power is just one election away from developing nuclear weapons.
>>
>>56735711
>If I wanted RPG elements of a stronger quality I will play something else.
Oh ok. So its completely ok for a company to shit on established lore for a quick buck.
>>
>>56732637
No, we don't know what to do with the waste yet.

The solution to pollution isn't dilution.
>>
>>56736248
Then why hasnt all 30+ nations that already have nuclear power not make nuclear bomb? Because it would be politically disastrous. North Korea is the only one that is close to using one and they still havent.
>>
>>56735311

>>56736413

The point is that they COULD start making bombs any time they wanted. Sure, reactor grade plutonium doesn't make nearly the same level of bang as weapons grade plutonium, but its still too dangerous.

That argument is like saying people with cars could kill people and that we should not have them. Yes it is possible other nations could make bombs, but again it is political suicide. Sanctions and military action would take out any country that is willing to do so. But preferable just the threat of one or both is enough.
