What do statistics say about the gender wage gap? Does it exist?
>>
Yes because women are lazy shits.

Source: DOL.
>>
>>56730255
What about controlling for degree differences and position? Say, a man and a woman have the same job position, same education and same years of experience.
>>
>>56730255

this

literally every statistic that shows women making less can be explained by other statistics that show they work less.

big surprise. the women who work more than the average actually make the same as men
>>
the way people think it is, no.

the wage gap was generated using statistics on the total average income of men and women, not the average income of men and women doing the same job.
>>
disparity yes.
discrimination no.
Women make different choices and would rather do family things with their time than wage slave.
This manifests in the aggregate.

I vaguely remember an infographic posted here, showing the variables: gender (obv), years of experience, job position, salary and the company (I think). The results said in some cases women earned more, other times men, but it was a pretty even split. What was the source of that infographic or a picture of it if anyone has it?

The gap largely disappears when you correct for working hours, different occupations, safety hazards in the job, benefits taken instead of raw salary, etc.
>>
Yes, but only because women typically choose low-risk, lower-paying careers, work fewer hours and take more holidays. No other reason.

I mean, if you ran a business, and could actually employ women for 25% less salary, you'd always pick them and save shitloads of money. What the people who moan about the wage gap don't understand is that there is not a single business in the world that would willingly spend more money than they had to, just to prop up some sort of patriarchy. They exist to make profit, nothing else.

if you control for anything, it's perfectly even (which is a "No shit" seeing that it's been illegal to pay women less than men for the same work for almost half a century)

the 75% comes from comparing an average of all occupations across all demographics.

In the US:

- Men work 15% more hours per week than women.
-Overtime is 1.5x pay rate

Draw your own conclusions.

it is negligible in apples to apples comparisons.
This is suggested because men more aggressively negotiate for raises cuz testosterone.

This is about as scientific as the studies the feminists like to quote

It was meant to be a joke.

>>56730081
Have zou ever noticed that the statistics they use are wage per month or per year? Not the hourly wage and how many hours they put in every week?
Because that's where your answer is. They work less.
>>
>>56730081
There's a difference between wages and earnings. Women earn less, despite wages being the same.

>work fewer hours, earn less despite having same wage
>don't exceed goals to make bonuses, earn less despite same wage
Make sense?
>>
>>56732881
Not that guy, but let's say a man and a woman both earn the same wage, $10 an hour.

If the man works 45 hours a week, and the woman works 40, their salaries would be:

Man: $23,400
Woman: $20,800

Despite their wages being identical, their salaries differ dramatically, for what would appear to be very little difference in working hours, on a day-to-day basis. It's the same reason that a lot of people say 'Well, I work just as hard as that guy, doing the same job', but what they don't realise is that that guy might be working an extra couple of hours a week, without being particularly noticed.
