The reason they're never mentioned isn't because is they're women its because they're not relevant.
>>
>>56717317
>they gave me no clear reason why there was an omission of women
This is seriously how these cunts think.
Imagine being so far removed from reality.
>>
I am racking my brain trying to come up with even a single noteworthy female composer.
Ain't got shit.

I can't think of any either. I can think of quite a few Jewish ones.

A levels are what comes after GCSE's (6th form and college)
Used to be called O-levels i believe.
>>
>>56717317
When people realize there are no good female composers they will can this bitch's opinion once they hear all the shitty music that comes because of it
>>
A-levels are out qualifications you get when you leave school at 18, equivalent to your highschool diploma.
The full title is General Certificate of Education Advance Level. (the ordinary level taken at 16 has been replaced since by the General Certificate of Secondary Education or GCSE).
>>
>>56718206
>but Beethoven and Mozart were black
>>
>>56718316
Wait, got it. Hildegard is bloody great, but i don't see her being relevant in a class

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dehwp_dRlYQ
>>
>>56718007

Only one I can think of is Fanny Mendelssohn and she wasn't even all that famous because her brother was much more famous than her.
>>
A-level music isn't a real degree

its similar to the way it works in the states.
>>
>>56718388
And the pathetic thing is that guy thinks he has a chance with her for capitulating.
>>
Since the beginning of time men have made music so women will fuck them.

Women have made music to prove that they can make music too.

Men have a far better motivation for writing music, and therefore write far better music.
>>
>>56718007
Hildegard you ignorant nigger.

Apart from her, though, there ain't many.
>>
I'd change her sy-
>>56717501
maybe not
>>
Not only are women not good at composing, most most of them can't even play instruments. Just look at rock bands etc.

Women in general are only good at singing.

>>
Bjork and Stevie Nicks are the only respectable female musicians I can think of but not sure how either could prossibly be fitted into the syllabus.
>>
>>56718007
Clara Schumann is bretty good, though she only was famous because of her husband.
Honestly I think her music is a little better than his
>>
>>56717317
>What are A-levels
Bullshit exams you sit when you're 16-18

>and why are you so sexist in the year two-thousand and fifteen?

Because all the great works of music have be written by white men. Deal with it.
>>
>>56718206

never mind trying to think of a female classical composer, try thinking of a black composer?
>>
>>56718801
This is not true in the case of classical music. There are many good women musicians.
>>
>>56717501
Wait.

They used a picture of a prettier girl for the article?
>>
>>56718962
The closest that comes to mind is Scott Joplin, who couldn't really be considered classical. He did pretty much invent ragtime though.
>>
>>56718801
I liked a lot of the girl bands of the 90s, before SJW/PC/Radfem got ahold of them and turned them all into whiny entitled cunts.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kb-NaFnmzRQ
>>
What's the name of that girl that makes piano music and listens to Varg?
>>
>>56718962
If you count jazz then there's alot. Sorabji and Khachaturian are the only non white classical composers that I can think of.

Outside of a couple of hong video game composers women are absolutely fucking awful at music

Music requires you to have creative drive/vision/a soul, three things women never ever have because their evolutionary purpose for the past god knows how many millennia has been to just sit there and soak up resources with their vacuous sponge cunt
>>
>>56719141
>>56719191

that's true, but i'm thinking classical specifically.
>>
>>56719141
Duke Ellington and Thelonious Monk fit that category of being jazz that's similar to classical.

Lots of women in East Asia are big in video game art/music and comics.
>>
>>56718906
>she only was famous because of her husband.
If anything the reverse was true. She was a famous touring virtuoso and Robert practically developed an inferiority complex from living in her shadow.

Nigger please. What's her best piano quintet?

>What are A-levels

Don't think there is really a comparable qualification in the US.

Basically once you finish high/secondary school you can get a part time job in McDonalds.

Or you can go into "college" and do vocational training or other diplomas/certifications. That'll be stuff like training to be an electrician or plumber or some more academic courses like software engineering. Often after ~2 years in college you can get a job or go onto university. Sometimes your studies can count as "time spent" towards a degree so the 2 years in college might translate to the first 2 years completed of a degree.

A-levels are conducted in schools and are done in more traditional subjects like "Maths", "English", "History" etc. After this you can get a job or go to university. Don't believe they count towards taking time off your degree like some college qualifications do.

(grew up in the UK if you're thinking "wut. flag?"
>>
>>56719983
The plot is a twelve year old boy in 19th century central Asia married to a 20 year old woman.
>>
>>56718007
Your mistake is thinking that "noteworthy" matters. Having a vagina is the only criteria women need to meet. It's right there in the article.

>"Yes - there were fewer female composers but it doesn't mean to say there weren't any."
>>
>>56720202
The foundation stuff counting towards a degree in a college is usually taken after doing a-levels or a BTEC in college for two years though, so no one goes into 3rd year uni at 18.
>>
>>56720202
So theyre like american AP qualifications?
>>
>>56720313
You're right. Trying to think back to when I went through...seems a fucking eternity ago now lel

>>56717317
COMPOSERS YES BUT WHY ARE THERE NO FEMALE MOZARTS

WE NEED TO GET MORE WOMEN INTO MOZART
>>
>>56720385
Not really.
In the UK you used to be able to legally leave school at 16.
So we had separate institutions called colleges (not like murrican ones) or sixth-forms attached to schools where some people chose to stay on to 18 to do A-levels as a further qualification, they're normally taken by people intending to go onto university afterwards.
You can't leave school at 16 now, though at ages 16-18 they're flexible with what you do, so many people who don't want go to university spend two years doing a vocational course in a practical subject, or go into an apprenticeship which is half study, half work.

A levels are less broad than US highschool's last two years though, I only took Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Physics for two years before going on to do maths at university. Subjects stop being required of everyone at 16.

Hildegard von Bingen you simple pleb.

>women suck at stuff so they don't deserve representation
This isn't the case, in the past it's been much harder for women to be educated so we naturally have less women to look at historically.
>>
>>56720631
Sounds somewhat similar I guess.
>>
>>56717317

Well fucking change it, get a degree and compose something you rancid whore.
"There aren't any women in STEM"
"There aren't any women in composition" "There aren't any women in anything that requires a tint of effort".
Well make a fucking difference about it bitch.
>>
>>56717317
I just thought of this. There are tons of female and minority roles in opera and Musicals. Yes, even Blacks. (Othello, Monostatos, Porgy, Bess). Shouldn't that be enough. That's very diverse.

Women are super sensitive about criticism. They're so thin-skinned that it's no wonder they're neurotic and guilt-ridden.

Jarboe, Joni Mitchell, Lydia Lunch, and Jennifer Herrema are some of my favorite songwriters and some of the best ever.

Joanna Newsom is probably the best songwriter of the past decade too.
>>
>>56718742
>>56720988
Barely even relevant, other than historicity.

Amy Beach was one of the most prominent female composers from the United States.
