Lived between Middlesex and Bristol County most of my life. I'm sitting here in shorts and a light hoodie here in Florida and I have hated every second of it, with the exception that I found a salary paying job down here.
I miss Awful Awful's at the Newport Creamery, cops who at least seemed literate, seasons, the strange mystique combined with the modernization of America's greatest city and state capital, historical monuments every few blocks, no taxation on food or clothing, very cheap health care premiums, traffic on 128, the slow unending degeneration of Taunton and other towns, BLUE HILLS, Freetown State Forest, driving to Providence and Boston in one night, nostalgic conversations about the Civic Center, the remains of the Boston Garden left behind across the bridge, that really cool comic book/toy shop in Worcester, feeling like I'm in a different country every time I crossed into western Mass and northern Connecticut. Oh Jesus... Vermont. Everything about Vermont.

Get the fuck out. Essex, and Middlesex County have plenty of rich broes. There are a so many rich people in Barnstable you could start a new country out of there and it would be like Norway. Of course there are also some poor fags too, but they're very happy to be there. Then there's Plymouth County, which has some unsavory neighborhoods, but they're not really as bad as the shit that cultivates in neighboring Bristol County.
Of course there are many more wealthy communities in New England, but let's turn to tourism. Tourism in New England really brings the money home. You can thank based Cape Cod and Newport.

Are you just going for accounting or would you be open to other financial related positions? If you have any tech experience or programming knowledge you could try going for a startup. Cambridge is attracting a lot of new big data companies with decent salaries and there is a lot of development in the area. If you get in early with these companies then often equity is a part of your compensation package. If the startup is sold or goes public, you could be looking at a lot of cash very quickly which can get you at least closer to a house. Google angellist and make a profile and see if anything looks interesting.
