In all of middle school and high school in Kentucky they taught world history for exactly one year: 8th grade.
It consisted of random inconsequential colonial French and British history back to about the early 1700's (because nothing that happened way before America's independence matters much right?)
He never even fucking tested us or had us open books he just talked for an hour and gave absolutely no fucks if everyone slept.
And then the history teacher who was also the gym teacher got bored and started talking shit about ww2 and playing John Wayne movies. He would also just not do class cause he had to do P.E. and the teacher from the class next door would come put on a movie.
Two fucking years of remedial history at my Podunk community college. Two fucking years. The admissions officer literally thought I was fucking with him when I got every history question wrong and then I got two years of history class with blacks but actually had a really good Ukrainian old lady who was interesting. This was all northern Kentucky in late 90's btw.
