Between the parade on Thurs and the fucking shopping crowds from Fri-Sun, the only other time that even comes close in terms of escaping manhattan is New Years eve, but that's only one day and can work so long as you avoid midtown and have plans downtown or uptown. ANYONE who lives in manhattan KNOWS that you do NOT stay in the City for Thanksgiving from Wed night to Sun. night at ANY COST. EVERYONE knows that.
