Honestly I don't think you can make the statement you just made with any great committment. Of the three, only 1 was a clear shift, one was a statistical tie, and the other was basically a 3-term cycle.

PA even voted for Kerry when he decisively lost to Bush Jr. When you can't flip a state over to red when going against as weak a candidate as Kerry, its unlikely you're flipping the state to red no matter who is running on either side.

Now look at PPP polling from this time in 2011 and you'll see stuff like Obama/Romney tied in Nevada polls, when the election results were Obama 4%. Or that Gingrich was way up in polls vs Romney in Florida, when Romney won the FL primary by 14 points.
Polls this far out from the election, even from some of the primaries, simply do not mean much. You're much better off looking at historical voting trends than historical polls, and history has PA going blue for the past 30 years even when dems lost the general election.
